For readers of scary books, Mary Downing Hahn is by far one of the most prolific and scary writers I have read. I enjoyed the surprise elements, and in the end, all was peaceful at the Old Willis Place. This title is available at the Beaufort Branch Library, SCLENDS, and Hoopla.

Bumpy Little Pumpkin

Pig the Monster

Pig the Pug takes things a little too far (as usual) on Halloween and finally learns his lesson. At least for the time being. Kids and kids at heart will enjoy watching Pig's Halloween antics and seeing what mischief he will get into this time.
I am recommending this book for several reasons: 1) Pig and Trevor are adorable (even though Pig tends to get himself into trouble), 2) Pig and Trevor going trick-or-treating and Pig being a little (or a lot) greedy with his treats is fun and funny to see, and 3) Seeing Pig and Trevor in various costumes and having some Halloween fun is an awesome way to get into the Halloween spirit!
