USCB Professor, Rod Sproatt will do a book review of Rocket Boys. Light lunch provided in the 2nd floor Conference Room.

Saturday, May 21, 3 PM
One of the original Rocket Boys, Roy Lee Cook, will speak in the Paul Siegmund Room. Receptions follows.

Bluffton Branch Location

• Saturday, April 9 (1:30 p.m.):
Memoir Writing Workshop presented by local author, Vicki Hunnings.
Learn to write a memoir just like Rocket Boys!

• Sunday, April 17 ( 2:00 p.m.):
"EXPLORE! Fun with Rockets" Program (For children ages 8-12 ).

• Sunday, May 1 ( 2:00 p.m.):
Free screening of the 1999 film, which is based on Rocket Boys.

• Wednesday, May 11 (11:00 a.m.):
Ann Rosen will lead a discussion of the book, Rocket Boy.

• Sunday, May 22 (2:00 p.m.):
Scientist Richard Evans will speak on rocketry – “Inertial Navigation: Flying to the Moon Without a Road Map.

Hilton Head Island Branch Location

• Wednesday, April 6 (2:00 p.m.):
Local author Bob Mayer will present a memoir writing workshop.

• Wednesday, April 27 (2:00 p.m.): There will be a book discussion of the book ‘Rocket Boys” led by Shana Hirsch from Technical College of the Lowcountry.

• Saturday April 30:
Three fun programs, at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.! "Blast!” -- an introduction to rockets. Participants will make rockets and then blast them off in the library parking lot. Ages kindergarten
and older. Participants will need to sign up in advance.

• Saturday, May 21 (11:00-12:00): Roy Lee Cooke, one of the original "Rocket Boys." will speak on his experiences and to sign copies of the book. He will also answer your questions.

• Events will take place in the large meeting room.

Lobeco Branch Location Programs
