We’re celebrating Banned Book Week with a teen trivia contest. Drop by the Children’s Services Desk anytime between Monday, September 23th -Saturday, September 28th and pick up the trivia questions. Clues can be found in the Banned Book Display in the library lobby or by using library resources. Turn in your completed trivia sheet to earn a cool prize.
Come spend some time with Ms. Kathleen and learn about the toys children played with and games children played around the time of the Civil War. Many of these toys and games are some we have been playing with since! Adult caregivers are asked to participate with children between 4-7 years of age.
The Friends of the Beaufort Library: Beaufort, Lobeco and St. Helena Branches (FOL) will hold its Annual Fall Book Sale September 27-29, 2013 at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort.

“The Civil War,” the groundbreaking documentary series by Ken Burns, will be screened over five consecutive Saturday afternoons as the Beaufort County Library system commemorates the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War through its “One County Reads One War” initiative.
Come get in-person homework help at the library in all subject areas. Homework Center uses trained volunteers and the services of Brainfuse to assist the students with their homework needs. Students will have time to take a break and have a snack, provided courtesy of the Friends of the Beaufort Library. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
